I’m Dr. Mary E. Tobin, a psychologist in private practice in Fort Collins. I am licensed in the states of Colorado and New York. I’ve worked in outpatient and private practice settings for over five years. Upon moving from New York to Colorado in 2014, I started Tobin Psychological Services, providing individual psychotherapy to adults, with a primary focus in treating anxiety and depression.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (BA) cum laude, Master of Science (MS) with distinction and Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) from Hofstra University in New York.
I have worked in schools and outpatient settings, serving children, adolescents and adults with a variety of needs, in both individual and group formats. I have taught undergraduate psychology courses, presented research at a Long Island psychology conference, and have received additional training in mindfulness. I also attend continuing education courses to stay current with advances in treatment.
I am a member of the American Psychological Association and the Colorado Psychological Association, as well as a volunteer for the APA/CPA’s Public Education Campaign. In 2006, I was the recipient of the Ted Bernstein Award, given to outstanding psychology graduate students for “leadership and professional development/promise.”
I utilize active, goal-directed and evidence-based treatments to help clients gain insight and take action towards symptom alleviation. I strive to create a warm, non-judgmental environment where my clients can feel safe to share, learn, heal and grow, while being given the skills and support needed to implement change.
Mary E. Tobin, Psy.D.
